Hand-painted decorative murals across multiple Gandhinagar Metro stations, including Mahatma Mandir, Akshardham, Juna Sachivalaya, and a Modhera Sun Temple–themed panel — covering station entrance pillars, exterior facade walls, and interior concourse walls. Themes include Gujarat's heritage architecture and monuments, classical dance, and wildlife and floral motifs.
Large-format wall surfaces on live, publicly accessible station structures, several storeys tall, needed accurate reproduction of specific architectural and cultural reference subjects (temple facades, heritage monuments) alongside decorative wildlife and floral panels — all while keeping stations operational.
A mix of decorative and texture painting techniques suited to each theme: fine detail work for architectural and figurative subjects, and freehand airbrush-style blending for the wildlife and floral panels. Sample sections were reviewed before full-wall execution to confirm colour accuracy and detailing at scale.
Painting was carried out directly on exterior pillars, tall facade panels, and interior concourse walls across the stations listed above, coordinated around station operating hours and public access.
The murals are now a permanent part of the public artwork at each station, seen daily by commuters passing through.
